UK producer and A&R Finch Fetti lists 4 recently discovered artists whom he’d like to hear more from. This week the spotlight is on:
Dessi, Chy Cartier, Pablomari & Silent
[1] Dessi (UK) www.instagram.com/dessimolaran
Ideal for Fans of: Culps, Br3nya & Trillary Banks
Description: Dessi has a very brash and confident rapping style, that is very engaging. Even though I do think this is early stages for Dessi, the energy and sassiness she displays is very captivating. The song ‘Lame Shit’ see’s her approach the laidback West Coast G Funk sound with a bold and sharp delivery, as she effortlessly raps in a smooth and cool delivery, that seems to blend elements of her British accent with hints of an american tone.
Favourite Release: Dessi – Lame Shit
Latest Release: Dessi – Lame Shit
[2] Chy Cartier (UK) www.instagram.com/chycartier
Musical Comparison: Ivorian Doll, S1, Gully.
Description: Cry Cartier makes very energetic UK Drill music that would definitely work in a high energy environment. The sound seems to focus more on the new approach to Drill, which is to create club anthems that are catchy and easy to sing along too, while she combines that with her obscure flow and rapping tone.
Favourite Release: Chy Cartier – Chanaynay
Latest Release: Chy Cartier – Chanaynay
[3] Pablomari (UK) www.instagram.com/pabznotmally
Musical Comparison: Just Banco & Sam Wise.
Description: Pablomari has a very unique and distinctive sound that seems to borrow from the melodic US trap sound as well as the monotone UK rap style. He has seemed to find the perfect balance in making mellow music that is still interesting and has a modern spirit to it. Pablomari has a cadence that is very soothing to the chill instrumentals he chooses and has a moody/slurred tone that works well with the trippy vibe his music creates. ‘Faded’ is definitely something you would have in your smoke session playlist and is also one that would be ideal for the late night car journey playlists.
Favourite Release: Pablomari – Faded
Latest Release: Pablomari – Faded
[4] Silent (UK) www.instagram.com/silent.brixhill
Genre: UK Drill
Musical Comparison: KO, CB.
Description: Silent has a very classic drill sound that would be appealing to the UK Drill purists. He has a very bold, raw and direct rapping style and is very descriptive with his no filter approach to his lyrical content. His sound is not currently one I could hear on the radio yet but there is potential for a street anthem as he has the flow, lyrical talent and delivery.
Favourite Release: (67) Dopesmoke x Silent – Hazard In Public
Latest Release: (67) Dimzy x Monkey x SJ x AK x Silent x Dopesmoke – Danger Hill
